Game Day notebook: James Jr. cowboyed-up to play at New Mexico — Bottineau Health news

FARGO — North Dakota State linebacker Ray James Jr. was questionable to play heading into the University of New Mexico game last week, although there was no question in his mind as to his status. Tape it up, wrap it, pain relievers; do whatever it takes to get on the field. The third-year player shook off a shoulder injury suffered in the Nevada game to lead his team in tackles against the Lobos. His 11 stops included an interception that prevented New Mexico from a lightning-fast start. It definitely was a mental toughness thing going out there, just try not to worry about it and play through it, James Jr. said. If it happens again, it happens again. Trying to prevent that but also playing my heart out for my teammates. He got hurt on Jackson Williams kick-six return for a touchdown against the Wolf Pack. Williams took a 57-yard missed field goal that was well short in the end zone, weaved his way by some Nevada linemen and then found himself open on the left sidel
